Chrome is a popular, free web browser that is managed by Google.
Before you can begin installing Chrome, you will need to open a different web browser already installed on your computer. This is usually Internet Explorer or Safari depending on your operating system.
1) Click in the address bar and type chrome.google.com

2) Press the Enter key to load the website.
3) Click the large download button.

4) Choose to set Google Chrome as your default browser and click Accept and Install.

Chrome will automatically download and install in the background then open once done.

Here is the newly installed browser. Now you can begin using the program.

A cookie is a piece of text that is stored on your computer by a web browser. Cookies can be used to store login info, preferences and shopping cart data. Many websites require cookies to be enabled before you can access them.
1) To see options to manage cookies, open the menu.

2) And click Options.
3) Click Under the Hood.

4) Click Content Settings.

Use these options to allow or block all cookies from all sites. Third-party cookies are set from a different domain than the one shown in the address bar. Use this option to block third-party cookies.

5) Click All cookies and site data.
You can search for cookies and manually delete ones from sites you don’t recognize.
6) Click a cookie or site.

7) Click the X to remove cookies from this site.

8) Click Remove All to clear all cookies.

9) Close the Cookies tab.

10) Click Manage Exceptions.

This window lets you allow or block cookies from specific domains.

11) Type the address of a website.

12) Choose Allow if you want to automatically accept all cookies from this domain.

Alternatively, you can choose Block to decline all cookies from the site or Session Only which accepts all cookies from the specified domain until you close the browser.

The History in web browsers is a list of all websites you have visited. The Cache stores data so future requests to that data can be loaded faster. Both of these can become quite large with frequent use.
1) Click this wrench icon to expand the menu.

2) Click History.
The web pages will be sorted by the date and time they were visited.

3) Click Edit Items.
4) To remove items, check the box.

5) And click Remove selected items.
6) Click OK.

If you have a lot of pages, deleting history using this method can be tedious, so, let’s see how to delete our entire history.
7) Click Clear all browsing data.

8) In the window that appears, choose a time range to clear.

9) Select the items to delete: browsing and download history, cookies, cache, and saved passwords.

Once you click Clear browsing data, the deleted items cannot be recovered.

You can set Chrome to remember your passwords for sites you visit, however, you shouldn’t enable this if you are on a public computer.
1) Open the menu.

2) Click Options.
3) Click Personal Stuff.

Any passwords that have been saved will show up in the top box.

When a password is saved, this bar will be displayed under the address bar. Click Save Password to remember passwords for this site or Never for this site and Chrome will never ask again for this domain.

When you bookmark a page, the web address is stored in a file on your computer for future access.
1) To manage your bookmarks, open the menu.

2) Click Bookmark manager.
Once you have added bookmarks, they can be organized here.

5) Click Always show bookmarks bar.

Now any pages we add to the Bookmarks Bar folder will show up here.

6) Type a URL in the address bar.

Notice the star has now turned yellow indicating that this page has been bookmarked.

9) Optionally type a name for this bookmark, then choose the folder where this link should be stored.

We want this link to show up in our bookmarks bar.
10) Click Done to close this prompt.

The page we added to the bookmark bar shows up here.

11) Click Other Bookmarks.
This list will show all other pages you have bookmarked that aren’t in your bookmarks bar.

1) Click it to view information about the pop-ups being blocked.
2) Choose this option to allow pop-ups from this domain.
