The purpose of this tutorial is to teach you how to repoint your DNS (Domain Name Servers) settings fromt Register.com to FatCat Servers

If your domain name is registered through Register.com, you will need to go to their site, and point your domain name to FatCat Servers DNS Servers

     Name Server 1: NS1.FATCATSERVERS.com
     Name Server 2: NS2.FATCATSERVERS.com
     Name Server 3: NS3.FATCATSERVERS.com

There are two or more nameserver (NS) settings that must each be changed. Let's begin by going to the Register.com home page.

  1. Click on Your Account on the right hand side. Enter your Username and Password in the boxes on the log in screen, and then click the Log In button. You are now logged in to your Register.com account.
  2. Click on the domain name you wish to manage. Scroll down, and enter the new DNS settings in the boxes provided.
  3. When you are done, click on the Continue Button. This takes you to a confirmation screen.
  4. Click on the Continue button again to confirm the changes.

You have sucessfully updated your DNS settings, and your domain is now pointing to your new hosting account on Fatcat Servers.

NOTE: Please remember while propagation usually takes place in a couple of hours, it can take as long as 48 hours for your domain name to fully propagate after you make these changes.
