The purpose of this tutorial is to help you get started when you are transferring your domain from OpenSRS to FatCat Servers.
There are several things that must take place before you can begin to transfer your domain name.
This tutorial assumes that you already have a domain registered with OpenSRS, and we are going to start on their home page.
The first thing you must do is make sure the domain name is not locked or it will be prevented from transfer by OpenSRS.
- Enter your domain name, OpenSRS account username and password in the boxes on the log-in screen. Now click on the Manage Domain button. You are now logged in to your OpenSRS account.
- Click on the Domain Locking link in the menu at the top of the page. This opens the Domain Locking screen.
- Scroll down, and check the status of the locking. If you are unable to change the locking status for a domain from here. You would need to contact your domain supplier for assistance it you need to change the status.
The lock has now been removed from the domain name, so it can be transferred to FatCat Servers.
Next you should verify that your Contact Info is correct and up-to-date. The transfer request approval will be emailed to the administrative contact, and must have action for transfer to proceed.
And finally you should obtain the transfer authorization code. It is the authorization code that allows the registries to permit the transfer of your domain name. This code is needed by FatCat Servers to begin the transfer process.
Note: The transfer code may be called by a different name I.E. EPP Code, Key Code, Transfer Key, etc.
When finished, click the log out link, in the left hand side menu.
You are now ready to transfer your domain, or contact support to initiate the domain transfer request.
