Configuring custom ports in Windows Live Mail

This tutorial assumes you’ve already launched Windows Live Mail.

To configure custom ports for your email account, first right-click your account name.

Then click Properties.

Click the Advanced tab.

Let’s assume we need to change our port numbers to use SSL connections.

This is where your email account’s server port numbers are listed, and available for you to change.

Check here to require SSL for the outgoing server, then enter the new port number.

Then check here to require SSL for the incoming server, then enter the new incoming port number.

Note that the port number was updated automatically.

When finished click OK.

Enter your signature in this text box.

When finished, click here and give your signature a name.

Then click OK.

That’s it! The signature has been setup and is now easily added to any email we want to send.

To add your signature, simply click the Insert tab in your message window.

Click the Signature icon.

Then select your signature from teh drop down menu.

The signature is added to your email message!
