How to create Tasks in SmarterMail

This tutorial assumes that you have already logged into your SmarterMail account

To create a new task, select the icon for Tasks in the left navigation toolbar

Let’s create a new task by clicking on the New button

Select the Subject field and enter it here

Next select a Start and Due date and time using the date and time selectors

Select a time to be reminded before the task Start time

Click and select the Priority dropdown

Select the Description tab and enter a description for this task

Now click the Save button to save the new task

How to create Appointments in SmarterMail

To create a new Appointment, select the icon for Calendar in the left navigation toolbar

Let’s move the calendar ahead one day by clicking the forward arrow

Here we see the Daily appointments view. You can change the current view by selecting any of the other calendar view tabs

To create a new appointment for the current day select a time and click on it or click on the New button

Select a Subject and enter it here

Let’s select the Attendees for this appointment/meeting. Click on the Attendees link

Select the attendees by checkmarking each one and then clicking the OK button

Select a Start and End date and time using the date and time selectors

Enter the Location information for this appointment

We’ll select a time for our Reminder next

Checkmark Enable to be sent an Email Notification reminder

Click on the Recurrence Information tab to select a recurring appointment

To add descriptive information for this appointment, click on the Description tab

To select a category, click on the Categories tab

Now click on the Save button to save this appointment

Here we can see our new appointment listed

Click on the All Appointments tab

Select the Daily, Weekly or Monthly tab to view appointments in those formats

How to create Contacts in SmarterMail

How to open email messages in SmarterMail

The My Today Page summary shows there are two unread messages designated in a number of areas

This tutorial assumes that you have already logged into your SmarterMail account

To view and open any emails, we will view our Inbox by clicking the Inbox link

Here we can see the emails currently in our Inbox

If we select an email from those listed with a single click it will change its status from unread to read and change it from bold (unread) to normal text (read)

The currently selected email can be read in the Message preview area as well as perform a number of actions upon it like Reply, Reply All, Forward and Delete

By double-clicking on an email item we can open it in a new window

After opening an individual email we can read and take action upon it with the menu bar at the top of the email

You can change the way your email is viewed by clicking the View dropdown option

We’ll change the message content back to HTML from Text

To login to SmarterMail, you need to open a browser and go to the URL provided by your webmail administrator

First enter your Email Address

You can format HTML messages using the format toolbar

Once you’ve completed composing your message, click the Send button
